Dungeons 2 Max Level and Enchantment Points

What is the max level in Minecraft Dungeons II?

The max hero level is 100 at launch. Two sources that work in different ways agree on this. dungeons.tools read it from the game files, and GameRant, an editorial site, states the same cap in an article from 1 October 2026. According to dungeons.tools, reaching level 100 takes 449,647 XP in all.

The cap is a launch figure, and a patch could raise it. We have not played the game to the cap ourselves.

How many enchantment points do you get?

You get one point per level, so 99 points by level 100. dungeons.tools reports 1 point per level and 99 in total from the game files. GameRant says the same, but calls them enhancement points. Maxroll calls them enchantment points and says they show as a purple icon at the top right of the screen.

So “enhancement points” and “enchantment points” are the same thing under two names.

What do enchantment points buy?

Points pay for enchantment tiers, together with Echo Shards, at the Enchantsmith. DungeonsDB reports that maxing one enchantment costs 15 points and 3 Echo Shards across its three tiers, with 3 points for tier I, 5 for tier II and 7 for tier III. MetaBot.GG’s game-file table shows that 15 is the figure for a Unique item. A Common item costs only 6 points to max.

By our own arithmetic that means 99 points are enough to fully max six enchantments, using 90 points and leaving 9. This is our calculation from DungeonsDB’s cost, not a number any source states. Each item holds one enchantment according to the community wiki, so slots matter as much as points.

Maxroll adds that the Enchantsmith starts with level 1 enchantments, and that you can spend 30 and 60 Echo Shards to unlock levels 2 and 3. These two do not contradict each other. Maxroll says every application costs 1 Echo Shard, so three tiers cost 3, which matches DungeonsDB. The 30 and 60 shards are a one-time cost to upgrade the Enchantsmith itself. DungeonsDB’s 3, 5 and 7 points are the step cost for each tier on a Unique item, which matches the Unique row in our how to enchant guide.

Can you respec your enchantment points?

Yes. Maxroll says you can disenchant an item to reclaim its points and spend them again at any time, but you need to kill some enemies to earn more Echo Shards first. So a mistake costs shards, not points.

What does leveling up do for your gear?

Your hero level caps how far the Blacksmith can raise an item. dungeons.tools says each level raises the item power the Blacksmith can upgrade to by 1.5, and DungeonsDB says item power is capped by hero level. GameRant says gear can be upgraded to 149 while drops reach 150 and above.

We could not confirm the 149 figure in a second source, so treat it as GameRant’s number.

We count dungeons.tools and GameRant as the two independent sources for the level cap. DungeonsDB’s numbers appear to come from the same game-file data as dungeons.tools, so we do not count it as a third.
