When did Minecraft Dungeons II come out?

Minecraft Dungeons II was released on 29 September 2026. It unlocked everywhere at the same moment, 08:00 UTC, which was 4:00 a.m. Eastern, 1:00 a.m. Pacific and 9:00 a.m. in the UK. Mojang’s own announcement, dated 7 June 2026, gave the date as 29 September, and the Steam store page lists the same day.

The reveal and announce trailers followed on 8 June 2026, the gameplay trailer on 20 August 2026 and the launch trailer on 29 September 2026, according to the trailer list on DungeonsDB.

Which platforms is it on?

Minecraft Dungeons II is on Windows, Steam, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. That list comes from the official Minecraft website’s page for the game. There is no separate edition to hunt for on any of them, and the game is not on last-generation consoles.

How much does it cost?

On Steam in the United States the standard edition is $29.99 and the Deluxe edition is $49.99, according to DungeonsDB’s check on 29 July 2026. Prices change by region. On 6 October 2026 the Steam store in Canada listed the standard edition at C$39.99 and the Deluxe Upgrade at C$29.99.

If you already subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, you do not need to buy it. Day-one availability on Game Pass was confirmed by Mojang.

Does it have crossplay?

Yes. Mojang confirmed full crossplay and cross-progression on 29 September 2026. PC, Xbox, PlayStation 5, Switch and Switch 2 players can play together. You join a friend with an 8-character party code or through matchmaking, and you link each platform to the same Microsoft account to keep your hero everywhere.
